Magenta Light Studios has acquired U.S. and Canadian theatrical rights to Hurricanna about the final 48 hours of supermodel Anna Nicole Smith‘s life.

According to Deadline, “Hurricanna is told from the fragmented and colliding perspectives of Smith, her psychiatrist, and her attorney and caretaker. The pic explores fame, addiction and codependency, against the backdrop of a glamorous appearance at a championship boxing match that spirals toward disaster.”

Francesca Gregorini (Killing Eve, The Dropout, The Truth About Emanuel) directs from a screenplay by Rachel Sarnoff and Matt Sarnoff.

The film stars Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049, See), Oscar winner Holly Hunter (The Piano, Broadcast News), Mark Duplass (The Morning Show, Creep), Nicholas Hamilton (It, Captain Fantastic), Kevin Sussman (The Big Bang Theory, Ugly Betty), Michael Nouri (Flashdance, The O.C.), Dan Matteucci, Iqbal Theba, Halston Owen, Lilly Krug, Tom Bower, Matthew Gilmore, and Shakira Barrera.

The film is produced by Cassian Elwes, Rory Koslow, Alix Madigan and Paul Robarts, with Gregorini also producing. Yari, Amanda Harvey, Sandy S. Solowitz, Ace, Matthew Helderman, Thomas Mann, Luke Taylor, Mark Fasano, Nathan Klingher, Ford Corbett, David Gendron, Ali Jazayeri, Rachel Sarnoff, Matt Sarnoff, Michelle Jubilee Gonzalez, Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer, Jina Panebianco, R. Hurricanna hits theaters on November 13.
