Independent developer Steelkrill Studio has released a brand new trailer for its upcoming first-person psychological horror game, Where Dolls Hang, inspired by the real-life Isla de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls) in Mexico.
Where Dolls Hang draws inspiration from Isla de las Muñecas, a real-life location located within the canals of Xochimilco in Mexico City.
Famous for the hundreds of dolls hanging from trees, buildings, and surrounding structures, the island has become one of Mexico’s most unusual and unsettling attractions. Its eerie appearance and the folklore surrounding its origins have fascinated visitors for decades.
Taking inspiration from this real-world location, Steelkrill Studio has created an original fictional setting that combines Mexican folklore, psychological horror, and a disturbing mystery waiting to be uncovered.
While the game’s story is entirely fictional, its atmosphere is heavily influenced by the unsettling imagery and legends associated with the real Island of the Dolls.
In Where Dolls Hang, players must search for clues, examine unsettling scenes, record evidence, and piece together fragments of a story hidden throughout the environment.
Equipped with a camera, players will encounter increasingly unnatural situations as they venture deeper into the forest and abandoned interiors.
