Zach Passero’s feature debut, The Weird Kidz, is set to debut on VOD October 27. Check out the trailer below.

Written, directed, and single-handedly animated by Passero – with his wife Hannah painting the backgrounds – The Weird Kidz is both a horror-tinged creature feature and an ode to ’80s coming-of-age films and late-night cinema.

When three preteen boys, an older brother, and his girlfriend take off for a weekend campout, none of them can imagine the horrors (and laughs) awaiting them in a remote desert inhabited by a legendary night creature and crazed townsfolk. Puberty and adventure await… along with terror, amputations, and midnight cult rituals!

The cast includes Angela Bettis as Duana, Sean Bridgers as Sheriff,
Ellar Coltrane as Wyatt, Tess Passero as Dug, Glenn Bolton as Mel, Brian Ceely as Fatt, and Sydney Wharton as Mary.

Producers are Charles Horak, Lucky McKee (May). The executive producer is James Fino (Rick & Morty) and the film’s composer is Sean Spillane.
