Lili Reinhart (Forbidden Fruits, “Riverdale“) is starring in the upcoming psychosexual horror film, Violet.
Danny Ramirez (“The Last of Us“, No Exit), Suki Waterhouse (Seance, The Bad Batch), Mark Duplass (Creep, Backrooms), and Lukas Gage (Companion, Smile 2) also star.
The synopsis reads: “Two years after the sudden death of his fiancée, Violet (Waterhouse), Sean (Ramirez) has finally begun to move on, finding love with his childhood friend Kate (Reinhart). But when the couple moves into the home Sean once shared with Violet, he starts receiving unsettling text messages from someone, or something, claiming to be his dead ex. In an age of constant connectivity— where every text, photo, and digital footprint lingers forever— do exes ever really let you go?“
Patrick Brice (Creep franchise) directs from a script written by Nick Antosca (Verity, “Channel Zero”) and Alana B. Lytle, which adapts Antosca’s short story “Ghostfish.”
Kelly McKee and Kenneth Browning will produce alongside Elizabeth Haggard, Dylan Tarason, Antosca, and Alex Hedlund. Executive producers include Jeannine Tang, Chris Collins, Rasool Alizadeh, Gemma Levinson, and Jackson Stewart.
Production is slated for 2027.
Variety first reported on the film.
