Amazon MGM Studios didn’t take the stage at CinemaCon, but they did meet with exhibitors and key press to share their theatrical slate for the next few years. Among the slate are films Red One, After the Hunt, and Project Hail Mary.

Ten minutes of the Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans’ movie Red One, were shared, but details are being kept under wraps. The film is set to release theatrically November 15. According to Dealing, the film is “a fire-breathing Christmas action movie that completely reinvents the holiday genre,” and “it’s a world building piece of IP which lends itself to potential sequels set around different holidays.”

In addition, Amazon MGM made official that 11 big screen titles are planned into 2026 with more to-be-announced. Releasing this year is Plan B’s The Nickel Boys, based on Colson Whitehead‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and starring Aunjanue Ellis (King Richard). Also, the Bart Layton directed Crime 101 based on the Don Winslow novella which will be released in 2025.

Another theatrical release will be After the Hunt directed by Luca Guadagnino and starring Julia Roberts. It is produced by Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum and Guadagnino’s Frenesy banner. “The film is an intense dramatic thriller about a college professor (Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come to light.”

In 2026 is Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, who also serves as a producer in the astronaut film. Christopher Miller is set to direct with screenplay from Drew Goddard and Phil Lord. In addition to Gosling, producers on the project includes Amy Pascal, Lord, Miller, Aditya Sood, Rachel O’Connor, and Andy Weir.

These titles join Amazon MGM’s other big pics on the horizon: Challengers (April 26, 2024), My Old Ass (August 2, 2024), The Fire Inside (August 9, 2024), Blink Twice (Aug 23), Levon’s Trade (January 17, 2025), and Mercy (August 15, 2025).
