Felicity Jones (Rogue One) will star as Agatha Christie in Eleven Missing Days.
In December 1926, at the height of her fame, Agatha Christie became front-page news when she vanished in bizarre circumstances from her home. In a case of life imitating art, this whodunnit explores the investigation behind her disappearance, strangely resembling an Christie novel itself where everyone in her life became a suspect.
Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) will co-star as a retired Belgian police detective who gets drawn into the case, in an echo of Christie’s famous sleuth Hercule Poirot.
The cast also includes Nicole Elizabeth Berger (He’s Watching You) and Oliver Trevena (The Gorge).
Bertie Ellwood (“Hawkeye,” “Silo”) will direct from a screenplay by Ernesto Foronda (Better Luck Tomorrow), based on Christie scholar Jared Cade‘s 1998 book Agatha Christie and the Eleven Missing Days.
Serena Films’ Tatiana Kelly, Animus Films’ Jim Young, Green Light Pictures’ Lucas Jarach, Fortitude International’s Nadine de Barros, Peachtree Media Partners’ Joshua Harris, and Object & Animal’s James Cunningham produce.
Executive producers include Ford Corbett & Nathan Klingher for Gramercy Park Media, Landon Ash, Richie Walls, Brando Eaton, Jeff Rice, Jeff James, Nicole Mejia, Frank Walker, and Marc Gabizon.
Eleven Missing Days‘ US rights are represented by Range Select, while Fortitude will introduce the project to international buyers at this week’s Cannes film market.
Deadline first reported on the film.
