The first trailer for Clayface has debuted at CinemaCon.
Here’s a description of the trailer courtesy of Deadline:
In the trailer, we see a highly disfigured character with red eyes lying in a hospital bed. This is clearly a version of our lead character, played by Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries, whom we cut to in various stages of mutilation, pre- and post- some kind of traumatic event.
Elsewhere, we see the character wearing a mask, seemingly molting, and with a face he can distort like putty.
The DC film is written by Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, Doctor Sleep) and Hossein Amini, with James Watkins (Eden Lake, The Woman in Black, Speak No Evil) directing.
Naomi Ackie stars alongside Harries, with David Dencik, Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan rounding out the cast.
It is produced by The Batman writer-director Matt Reeves, Lynn Harris, and DC Studios’ James Gunn and Safran. Executive producers are Michael E. Uslan, Chantal Nong Vo, Lars P. Winther, Rafi Crohn, and Paul Richie.
Clayface releases in theaters October 23.
